Introduction
I am a passionate and dedicated registered nurse with over 30 years of nursing experience in various healthcare settings, outpatient and inpatient. My clinical expertise in an outpatient specialty as an Infusion and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) nurse has given me leadership opportunities to continue maintaining my Staff Nurse IV as a personal and professional goal. I have developed quality improvement projects and workflows for improved patient outcomes in my nursing journey and passion for nursing. I will be available for a dialogue to discuss my application further at your convenience.
The mission is to maintain the Staff Nurse IV as a professional and personal goal as an experienced registered nurse with Kaiser Permanente for over twenty years. To continue leading, guiding, influencing peers, and advocating for exceptional patient nursing care.
Striving to be recognized as a knowledgeable, compassionate nurse leader, engaged in continuous quality improvement, and focused on reaching my full potential, I returned to school with a full-time career to obtain a bachelor's degree. As a result, she knows more about health policy, research, evidence-based practice, and leadership development.
Furthermore, well-prepared to meet the new demand in the medical field. Maintaining Staff Nurse IV will encourage me to thrive in more leadership roles.
Personal Mission Statement
Upon completing my bachelor's degree, I plan to further my education, take the oncology nursing certification course, and become an Oncology Certified Nurse. Getting the Oncology Nurse certification (ONC) will allow me to infuse chemotherapy, increase my knowledge of chemo, and ensure that I am up to date on cancer care. It will also prepare me to effectively manage my patients' cancer symptoms and treatment. This certification will increase my duties and responsibilities as a nurse in the Infusion Center. Furthermore, I can work in the outpatient Oncology unit, a sister clinic to the Infusion center, that always needs additional staffing.
Professional Development Plan
"The best way to get a good idea is to get a lot of ideas." There is the right thing to do with regard to quality of care: improve it. If that takes courage, so be it."
Donald Berwick
Reflective Statement & Vision Board
The six reflective statements connect specific artifacts to what I learned at Samuel Merritt University and how I applied them to my nursing praxis. My vision board identifies what motivates me and gives meaning and direction to me.
Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful.
